RecreationThe Brasher-Stockholm Recreation is a non-profit organization funded by the Towns of Stockholm, Brasher and Lawrence, rental fees and donations.
The Recreation Commission has 6 members from each of the Towns of Stockholm and Brasher, with one member of each Town Board responsible for voting on various items brought the board regarding the recreation programs. The program is designed to provide recreational and employment opportunities for our youth as well as a resource for adult recreation in the Tri-Town area. WINTER: Brasher indoor rink, West Stockholm and Helena outdoor rinks for Tri-Town Minor Hockey. St. Lawrence Central School and various other adult leagues rent ice time. Also, public skating and open ice on the outdoor rinks free of charge. Adult: information on health and nutrition. Tri-Town Arena ball field: adult softball league. YOUTH EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES: Summer: 7-12 counselors for our summer program Older students run concession stands during summer events. RECENT IMPOVEMENTS: Picnic tables, grills, playground equipment, pickleball/basketball and a volleyball court behind the Brasher arena. There is a Pavilion you can rent for parties and activities. We also have received a grant from the late Dr. Dorthea Badenhausen to help with the installation of a Walking Trail.
